After 30 weeks of being on the BSLA program, Joseph has reached the Rakau reading level which is the top one for his Year 2 level. He has been working hard to learn new words to add to his vocabulary.
This book was called “We Belong” and is about a new student who arrives at a school, and how he is made to feel welcome by his teacher and his new peers. The children practiced writing words with an -ing ending and then talked about how they would help a new student in the classroom and why? They had empathy with this situation and could relate to the main ideas of the story.
Last Friday Team 2 walked down to the Dunkirk playground for some fun at the park and a picnic morning tea. Joseph enjoyed playing cricket with his friends, climbing, sliding and swinging on the flying fox!
